Welcome to historic Hexham.

Three ancient buildings overlook the heart of Hexham.

The Historic Hexham Trust
will care for these buildings, using them to preserve and display the rich past of Hexham. Click on one building to find more about it, and the Trust's plans; or use the buttons on the left.

The Old Gaol, with the story of The Reivers told in the Border History Museum.

The Moothall,
a gatehouse tower from the time of the Border Wars.

The Abbey, which has its roots in the 7th century, and Treasures from the early days of Christianity.

The Historic Hexham Trust has plans to preserve the buildings and the historic heritage of Hexham, eventually providing a Visitor Centre serving both Abbey and town.
